SVG is a vector format, which means it stays perfectly sharp at any size and usually has a smaller file size for logos and icons. You should keep using SVG on the web wherever you can. Convert to PNG when the destination cannot handle vectors: most email clients strip or refuse SVG, older versions of Office and many presentation tools render it poorly, print shops often request raster files, and social media platforms and app stores almost always require PNG uploads. If the target is a modern website, converting is usually a downgrade rather than a fix.
Because SVG has no fixed resolution, you choose the pixel size at export time, and choosing too small is the one mistake you cannot undo afterwards.
