What SQL statements does the formatter support?▾

The formatter supports all major SQL statements: SELECT, INSERT INTO, UPDATE, DELETE, CREATE TABLE, ALTER TABLE, DROP, and complex queries with JOINs (LEFT, RIGHT, INNER, OUTER, FULL, CROSS), subqueries, UNION, CASE WHEN, CTEs (WITH), GROUP BY, HAVING, ORDER BY, LIMIT, and OFFSET.

Does it preserve string literals and comments?▾

Yes. The formatter preserves the exact content of string literals (single-quoted values) and does not uppercase text inside them. It also preserves single-line comments (--) and multi-line comments (/* ... */).

What does the minify option do?▾

Minify collapses your formatted SQL into a compact single-line format by removing unnecessary whitespace, line breaks, and indentation. This is useful for embedding SQL in code, logging, or reducing payload size. String literals and comments are preserved.

Can I customize the indentation?▾

Yes. Choose between 2 spaces (default), 4 spaces, or tabs for indentation. You can also toggle keyword uppercasing on or off depending on your style preference.
