Frequently Asked Questions

What is a sitemap?
A sitemap is an XML file that lists all the pages on your website. Search engines like Google use sitemaps to discover and crawl your pages more efficiently. Having a sitemap helps ensure all your important pages get indexed.
What is priority in a sitemap?
Priority is a value from 0.0 to 1.0 that tells search engines which pages you consider most important on your site. 1.0 is the highest priority and 0.0 is the lowest. The homepage is typically set to 1.0 and less important pages to 0.5 or lower. Note that search engines use this as a hint, not a directive.
What is changefreq?
The changefreq (change frequency) tag tells search engines how often a page is likely to change. Options include always, hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, and never. This is a hint - search engines may crawl pages more or less frequently regardless of this setting.
Where do I submit my sitemap?
Submit your sitemap.xml file through Google Search Console (Search Console > Sitemaps > Enter your sitemap URL). You can also add the sitemap URL to your robots.txt file. Place the sitemap.xml file in your website's root directory (e.g., https://example.com/sitemap.xml).
Is this tool free?
Yes, completely free with no signup required. All processing happens in your browser - your URLs are never sent to any server.
